The Division (the first one)

The first Division is excellent a couple years after release

After getting the game for free with Humble Bundle I decided to get into it after not having anything else really to play. What I found was a really amazing game with a pretty interesting plot.

Loot shooters are not my forte, but I really did enjoy this game, the loot itself wasn’t really the focus for me, it was more running around and having fun finding cell phones and unlocking more of the story. The story is actually something that really stood out to me, the Dollar Flu was something that sounded stupid on paper, but in the game, you see the repercussions of it and how did it affect everyone in New York.

The Division 1 (since the second one is on the way extremely soon) is your run of the mill 3rd person cover shooter game, but it really does excel the world building. The game does a phenominal job making you want to explore every nook and cranny of the nearly abandon New York setting. Taking place in Winter, with its snow fallen setting makes you want to just cuddle under a blanket and lose yourself to the world that is set before you.

Like I said before, loot is never really a big attraction of games for me. Making numbers go up is only fun for so long, but this game did hook me with how the shooting felt, the damage numbers popping off of the enemies I had in my crosshairs and everything just felt “right” in a sense. Sure there were¬† bugs, but not really enough to make me want to stop playing. Do yourself a favor and pick this game up for a couple bucks on a sale if you are on the fence.
